Philanthropy
Alpha Epsilon Phi has two national philanthropies!
Our first being Sharsheret. Sharsheret is a national organization of cancer survivors dedicated to addressing the unique concerns of young Jewish women facing breast cancer. Sharsheret, Hebrew for "chain," was founded in 2001 by Rochelle Shoretz, a former Law Clerk to United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who recognized the need for a breast cancer organization that would provide culturally sensitive support for Jewish women after her own diagnosis at age 28. The organization has grown extensively over the years and has become globally recognized.

Our second being Elizabeth Glazer Pediatrics AIDS Foundation, which is one of the leading pediatric AIDS organizations. Elizabeth was a member of the AEPhi Sigma Chapter and while giving birth to her first child was was transfused with blood that was infected with the AIDs virus, which she unknowingly passed along to her two children. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention, care, and treatment programs.
To raise money for Sharsheret, every Fall we have an event called "AEPhi's Strongest Man" in which the fraternities on campus participate in various events to compete to be the "Strongest Man." To raise money for Elizabeth Glaser, we have "Phi Hoops" in the Spring which is a big basketball tournament that all fraternities participate in. Our philanthropies are a huge part of what makes AEPhi such a dedicated chapter. We have so much fun at both of our events and look forward to them each year!
